A few places in London

Today, Ben and I stopped to see a couple of the "common" sites that London is famous for: Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, and several memorials. There's a lot to be seen, so I shan't do many pic-explanations.

World Wars 1 and 2 memorials to those from the British Empire. The names of the nations represented in each war are written on the pillars.

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are on the left, and their kids oldest to youngest, progressing rightwards.

 We had the honor to meet Queen Caroline (wife of King George II, and after whom the Carolinas are named) and one of the gentlemen of court.

A touching memorial to Queen Anne's kids. Out of 16 pregnancies, her longest surviving child lived 11 years.

Ben's true calling...

Apparently, the Queen was having a tea party that Ben and I weren't invited to. From our vantage point on a near by memorial, Ben and I could partly see into the enclosed gardens. We even think we saw the queen (no joke!). 

This guy was having fun sitting in mid-air...

Upright are the works of Shakespeare. Horizontal on top of that are three books that we actually did buy...1821 editions of Ivanhoe! (In three volumes)
